According to the documentation:
http://www.bacula.org/rel-manual/Volume_Utility_Tools.html#SECTION000328000
000000000000
Usage: bcopy [-d debug_level] <input-archive> <output-archive>
-b bootstrap specify a bootstrap file
-c <file> specify configuration file
-dnn set debug level to nn
-i specify input Volume names (separated by |)
-o specify output Volume names (separated by |)
-p proceed inspite of I/O errors
-v verbose
-w dir specify working directory (default /tmp)
-? print this message
An example here:
http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.bacula.user/8918/match=bcopy
In this example I don't understand which is the volume and which is the
device! I am still confused. To review:
Device: backup (mounted at /backup)
Volume: oink-Incr-0001
Device: tape
Volume: oink-wed-1
I have tried the following with no success:
bcopy backup/oink-Iscrl-0001 tape
bcopy backup/oink-Incr-0001 tape/oink-wed-1
bcopy -v -i backup -o tape oink-Incr-0001 oink-wed-1
bcopy -v -i backup -o tape oink-Incr-0001 oink-wed-1 -w /backup
bcopy -v -i oink-Incr-0001 -o oink-wed-1
bcopy -v -d -i oink-Incr-0001 -o oink-wed-1
bcopy -v -d -i oink-Incr-0001 -o oink-wed-1 backup tape
bcopy -v -d -i /backup/oink-Incr-0001 -o oink-wed-1 backup tape
bcopy -v -d -i /backup/oink-Incr-0001 -o tape/oink-wed-1
I have never tried bcopy, but from looking at the list archives, and
guessing a few things, it would appear that -i oink-Incr-0001 and -o
oink-wed-1 are correct (specifying the volume names from when you
labelled the media).
The two mandatory parameters <input-archive> and <output-archive> are
the device names, as configured in bacula-sd.conf - I'm guessing yours
are 'backup' and 'tape'? Check in your bacula-sd.conf file to see
whether these are configured. That is in the Device {} sections, the
'Name =' bit if I understand correctly.
Also try specifying the location of the bacula-sd.conf file with the -c
option - every other example I have seen includes that.
I also suspect the devices must be unmounted in Bacula before using bcopy.
You can also try -d200 to produce (lots?) of debugging information.
If it still won't work, pls post some error messages you are getting.
I am nothing if not persistent!
That's the way to solve some of these problems. When you have solved
it, let the list know for future reference, and also write it down for
your reference.
