I did experience the same, couldn't find any reason, but after the
upgrade to 1.36.2 that didn't happen again. So, I suggest you do an
upgrade to that version or the current release version 1.36.3.
Upgrading should not be a problem - ./ configure with the same options
as before, make, and make make install (or simply copy the binaries).
Another peculiar thing i saw was that the number of
bacula-dir processes on the system increases from 4 to
around 21.
That's normal - that's all the "worker threads" for the different jobs
and bookkeeping. I don't know how many I had, but when the director
crashed I usually had four jobs running and saw about 10-20 jobs / threads.
From the schedule, bacula is doing the exact same kind
of backups monday to saturday.
I am clueless as to where to look and what might be
wrong. Any hints would be appreciated.
I am on bacula version 1.36.2.
Try upgrading - there are no configuration changes or database schema
modifications necessary, and I at least never saw such problems again.
