Hi All
First of all I would just like to say how much I like Bacula, its a superb bit of software, so thanks guys!
What I would like to know is what do most people do when backing up heavily used mysql databases? Do people prefer to backup the live files and "repair tables" if you have to restore or do people have other ways to do it? I have toyed with the idea of backing up the databases from a script and backing up the dump file to bacula but im not sure this is the best way to go.
Also, just to try and give something back to the project I can confirm
that the Overland Powerloader tape library using LT0-2 tapes works great
with bacula. I am running FreeBSD 5.4-Stable and have installed bacula
from the ports collection. I am using this setup to backup approx 35
machines in a co-lo environment, backing up just short of 900gb. The
only grief I had in the setup was the initial tape testing which I
resolved by fiddling with the bacula-sd.conf setup.
Could you send me your Device resource for the Overland. If it is different from the ones currently documented, I'll add it to the doc, and perhaps your work will reduce the grief for others ...

Hope this is of some use.
