hi, I am a new bacula user in China. The bacula server (1.36.2) has just been set up on our FreeBSD server, and we use it to back up user files of our desktop computers which run Windows 2000 Simplified Chinese version. Bacula is what we need; however, it has a problem handling chinese folder names if a Chinese folder name is INCLUDEd in bacula-dir.conf.
For us, the useful files are placed in subfolders My Documents and Desktop under each user profile folder in Documents and Settings. Unfortunately, the folder name Desktop on Simplified Chinese Windows is localized to 桌面, and this creates a problem for backup with bacula. We could back up the entire user profile folder. Nevertheless, there are a good number of subfolders which simply contain junks under it. Is there a way to just back up the chinese desktop folder with bacula? We use Outlook as our mail client. The size of each .pst file is rather big; some are about 2gb. They are updated every time a new email arrives. Is there a recommended backup scheme for these files with bacula? Thanks in advance for your help. Best regards. Adamson Huang ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Tell us your software development plans!
