I know that this might seem like a naïve question, but I am new to Bacula, I
set it up following the instructions, and I have 5 servers backing up to a
single tape drive - it is working flawlessly - I have tested restores, etc. I
just want to make sure my butt is covered in case the server that contains the
bacula db (using mySQL) crashes that I am backing up the right information to a
different machine and/or medium than the backup.

If I backup the BSR file(s), is that sufficient to rebuild the sql db in case
of disaster? Or do I also need to dump the mySQL db to a different machine.
Also, should I have a different BSR for each Backup Job?

Thanks in Advance for any advice

Quintin

Subject: [Bacula-users] Bootstrap Question

I want to make sure that I am 100% clear here...

If I back up my bootstrap file(s), even if I lose the mySQL db, I can
recover my catalog from the BSR? Is that correct?

Also, should I have a separate BSR file for each of my backup jobs?

Thanks for your advice.
