Hello.

Hi all,

I'm experiencing some problems restoring a file with bacula 1.34.6.
The file was originally stored on a win2k Client before bacula saved
it on my linux box.

I go into bconsole, make restore, enter the job id and try to select
the file.

<everything looks ok to me...>

Select the Client (1-2):
[selecting the windows client where the file was originally]

REALLY? Yo can't be too sure here... :-)

Run Restore job
JobName: RestoreFiles
Bootstrap: /var/bacula/restore.bsr
Where: /tmp/
Does this directory exist?
Replace: never
...Or does the file already exist in that place?
FileSet: ...
Client: ...
Storage: ...
Assuming the above is correct.

OK to run? (yes/mod/no): yes

But I can't find the restored anywhere and as the bacula report says it seems as no file has been restored.

The director status is fine too:
    71 0 0 OK 30-Mar-05 17:35 RestoreFiles

I found a message by Danie Theron <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (2005-03-08 05:22) with the subject "Restore OK , but no files".

What am I doing wrong?

Erm... don't know. Sorry.
Assuming the restore run was done with all the correct settings I don't know. You could try some things, though.

- Use bscan on the volume file to verify that the requested file is actualled stored in it.
- Make sure the directory you want to restore to does exist and that the FD can write into it.
- Start the FD on the client with debug output and restore again. Check if the FD reports errors.
- Run the SD with debug output and check it's progess.

Well, that's all I can think of now.
