Before that bacula-sd used a maximum of 2.3 GB RAM. 

I can't exactly tell what jobs where running at that time, but a large backup
with 7 mio files has finished successfully before the OOM killer ended
bacula-dir. That backup was running with accurate backup enabled.

The dir/sd server has 4 GB of RAM and 6 GB Swap. I'll add additional RAM, but
I'm still confused why the sd needs so much RAM.
