The . is well known to cancel all commands, this is also printed when you 
start bconsole

admin:~# bconsole
Connecting to Director admin:9101
1000 OK: admin-dir Version: 2.6.0 (21 June 2009)
Enter a period to cancel a command.           <-----------------

IMHO, I don't know if we need to add this everywhere, this is a very basic 
function... Users can also press Ctrl-C.  In an other hand, this is not too 
intrusive :)
