I read a lot mock-ups about the dash, but in my opinion they are all useless... The actual situation is useless, too. I think that it would best to have a search for everything (like it is now) and the buttons for the different lenses somewhere up also (different ideas where already discussed here). But the home lens would be the ideal place for a widget area (show something like the weather, some notes and news)
