This is a really good point. 

Gnome 3.x has a LOT of bugs. Some of them are left over from Gnome 2.x. Bugs 
like this should not exist for so long: 
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=552093

Personally, I think it's bad policy for GNOME to be devoting resources to 
creating apps like these when they still have such a big problem with bugs etc. 
in the underlying gnome structure.
