Hi all, this morning I had an idea about the Unity dash. I didn't prepare any mockups, because it's not an idea about how it is designed but how it could appear. Actually the user press the "Super" button and the dash window appears, covering/shadowing what is below it.
My idea is to make it appear just like the Android notifications: a panel scrolling from the top to bottom. In this way we could be ready if "someday" anyone decide to adapt Unity UI for a tablet experience. Yes.. my dream is to have a UI that can be used on tablet too and Unity is not so far. It just needs some adaptations like this that don't compromise the desktop experience and can be used on a toouch screen too. Imagine infact to run the actual Unity on a tablet: how do you make the dash appear? You can't (unless you bind the "Super" key to an hardware button). Being able to scroll down the top bar, you could make it visible. I hope you enjoy this idea. If not, don't worry, I will think to something else :) p.s: I'm also thinking about how to adapt the Unity launcher for tablet UI, don't worry ;) Regards, -- Andrea Grandi - Nokia Qt Ambassador website: http://www.andreagrandi.it _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ayatana Post to : ayatana@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ayatana More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
