Thanks for the idea, this is promising. As I wrote when this was posted on OMG Ubuntu, the main problem I see here is that there is not enough room to show the volume level effectively. <http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2010/11/indicator-headphones-making-sound-schemes-symbolic/#comment-96499798> In response, "Luke" drew some headphone icons showing the volume level. <http://ubuntuone.com/p/P6u> These demonstrate the problem: the headphone volume waves are very small, they're at a different angle from the speaker waves, and they're very similar to the network strength waves. One possibility to try is showing just one side of the headphones, not both, so that the volume waves don't change size or shape at all. I don't know whether that would be enough to still look like headphones. If that can be resolved, I'd be delighted to include this as part of the Ubuntu design. - -- Matthew Paul Thomas http://mpt.net.nz/ -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAkzjxegACgkQ6PUxNfU6ecrvPQCgpmnEqJbe1gMfBKFOkNE4fm+X XrEAnRvd8n5cdjq9wRmNbtqPTn2EDJJE =Iiep -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ayatana Post to : ayatana@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ayatana More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
