I don't really understand any of that, though I'm pretty sure that there are at least a *few* things in Ubuntu that don't have anything to do with the "Preferred Applications" window. > If this window can evolve, then i see the desktop as such evolving. > Any ideas on how to remodel "Preferred Applications" in a fashion that > would give it sense in combination with Ayatana Indicator Menus? >... I would love to see results of this user test: Before the test, install Ubuntu from scratch, then install Chromium alongside Firefox, then put a shortcut to some Web site on the desktop. Then in the test, get the participant to double-click on the shortcut to open it in Firefox, then close Firefox. Now show them Chromium, and say, "If you wanted that shortcut to open in Chromium whenever you double-clicked on it, what would you do?" - -- Matthew Paul Thomas http://mpt.net.nz/ -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAkyppPgACgkQ6PUxNfU6ecq+RQCg0ozFpYCxMA0NohlrvHvWI9NG QrAAoJO3Istk/ESHPerUm4PK/jaP6QTT =32En -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ayatana Post to : ayatana@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ayatana More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
