This interferes with the idea of notifications being ethereal -- as it
stands, if I want to close an app whose close box is hidden by a
notification, it doesn't change my work flow, I simply click /through/ the
notification.

The addition of a close button on the corner of the notification would block
this action under certain circumstances, and could also lead to dismissing a
notification that I didn't intend to dismiss.
