It would be nice to have a notifier which supports evolution and thunderbird, but also the most popular webmail services, at least hotmail, yahoo and gmail. There are probably at least as many people using webmail as there are people using desktop clients. There is one program in the repositories which can do this already, mail-notification, but it would probably need some improvements to be included.
