Hello don't you have a thermal zone in /sys/class/thermal/ it's much less confusing to use, at least for me.
For coretemp we will do two things, first switch default to temp2_input, I promised to do this when linux 3.0 came out, waited it out for all distributions to catch up ... and then forgot all about it.
