When I put my user/password on gdm and press enter it simple
blink a black screen and goes back to login screen.
If I set session to gnome it works.
If I go to tty1, log with my user, stop gdm and startx awesome starts
without problems
Version stuff:
[geckos@hilstdsk ~]$ gdm --version
GDM 3.2.1.1
[geckos@hilstdsk ~]$ awesome --version
awesome v3.4.11 (Pickapart)
• Build: Dec 6 2011 22:09:06 for i686 by gcc version 4.6.2
(geckos@hilstdsk)
• D-Bus support: ✔
[geckos@hilstdsk ~]$
Any idea?
Look into gdm.log. I bet it writes a log file to /var/log/gdm.log
Uli
Dont! There is a /var/log/gdm/*.log
Including :0.log :0.greeter.log
Any way, when I try to start the awesome I have notted that a message
appears on the tty from where I have started - if I did it - the gdm.
Is a warning:
gdm-binary[1497]: WARNING: GdmDisplay: display lasted 0.035148 seconds
There is also an assertion ocurring. I see now that there is awesome
updates avaible from archlinuxfr. I will update my system again and
report it here..
Here is the assertion:
(gnome-settings-daemon:2578): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref:
assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
