Hi everybody,

I am trying to do an apparently easy thing but it doesn't seem to work.

Using dbus-monitor I have entries of this kind:

signal sender=:1.23 -> dest=(null destination) serial=33
path=/org/gnome/ScreenSaver; interface=org.gnome.ScreenSaver;
member=ActiveChanged
   boolean true

coming from the org.gnome.ScreenSaver.

Now, in my rc.lua, I would like to intercept this kind of event using
the dbus facility, in order to execute some Lua code in the context of
Awesome when they occur.

Following what's is written here
(http://awesome.naquadah.org/wiki/Signals#dbus) I did a simple

require("awful.dbus")
local dbus = dbus
dbus.add_signal("org.gnome.ScreenSaver", function (data) print("DBUS!\n") end)

But, despite the fact that dbus-monitor reports many events linked to
the org.gnome.ScreenSaver interface, none of them is captured by my
Lua code (I never see DBUS printed!)

What's wrong with what I am doing?

Thanks for your help,
Fabio
