I emailed about a week ago with a revelation issue, but this is separate
(just so nobody's confused)...
I recently changed the tag layout settings so they're actually names
instead of numbers, but every time I try to use the config file with these
settings Awesome starts, displays my background, then falls back to the
theme background. There's no bar, no shortcuts and no menu...just the
background.
I ran $ awesome -k and the syntax checks out, so the issue likely seems to
be in how it's configured (versus a typo). But I have no idea, really.
Here's the tags section from my rc.lua (seems alright...). I changed my
rc.lua to have the default tag section and it starts up fine, so this
seems to be the issue. Also, I tried
tags[s][tagnumber] = awful.tag(tagnames[tagnumber])
with both awful.tag($STUFF) and tag($STUFF), both of which pass the syntax
check.
Thanks
Noah
