Unfortunately the whole class is broken. It repeats the same mistake when 
assigning values to state variable. I can't see how it can work in a clean 
manner without adding a layer of cruft (essentially mutable wrappers around 
ints/longs and so forth).

I suspect Berin has been coding too much in C++ lately ;)

Berin - do we need this class ? If so can you think of a nice way of managing 
state etc
