Hi gang,
I have moved over the avalon releases to http://www.apache.org/dist/ to
follow the best-practice for apache releases and allow avalon to be
mirrored. I have right now symlinked to the new location from the old
location, when y'all verify things are correct I will also add
appropriate Redirect entries to the .htaccess files. There's three
things left to do:
1) change jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-avalon-logkit/release/

this should just symlink to the new location.
> cd /www/jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-avalon-logkit/
> mv release .backup
mv: rename release to .backup: Permission denied
> ln -s /www/www.apache.org/dist/avalon/logkit/ release
ln: release/: File exists
Paul or root needs to do this because the file permissions are set
incorrectly.
2) remove old releases
======================
I haven't deleted anything yet; I still need to remove the backups I
made of the releases in the old location. I would like one or two people
to verify things have moved over correctly before I do so.
3) setup download scripts
=========================
Once the files are rsynched to the mirror, we need to set up
avalon.apache.org/bindownload.cgi and avalon.apache.org/srcdownload.cgi
as per http://cvs.apache.org/~bodewig/mirror
Note that I didn't copy over the historic releases (pre-4.0). Can do so
if needed but per my earlier message I think it is best if these are
moved to a final resting place where they are not in the way.
Also note there was a bit of a confusing situation with the locations of
excalibur and logkit releases (never noticed it before!), which I have
changed in the new location, but not the old ones.
