So I notice that in automake-1.15 the distcheck stuff is now begin built in _build/sub/. I am generating some files for our test framework that want to access stuff in srcdir.
I have these .in files using @srcdir@, but with the change from _build to _build/sub this expansion is no longer working. This doesn't seem to be documented at http://www.gnu.org/software/automake/manual/automake.html .
