If the FSF handles this problem also putting out a non-alpha-non-beta 1.11 release of Automake before 2008-02-01 I will donate k Euros to the FSF with k equal the number of days left to that deadline, e.g. if Automake 1.11 is released on 2008-01-31 I will donate 1 Euro, for 2008-01-05 it would be 32 - 5 = 27 Euros. Time is UTC+0, 31 Euros is maximum, just to be on the safe side.
I just noticed the release of Automake 1.10.1. It's not 1.11 as requested but it has LZMA support and is neither alpha nor beta. That's good enough for me. 32 - 21 equals 11, and according to the current exchange rate [1] 11 Euros make 16.0765 Dollars. Therefore I just donated 16.08 USD to the FSF. Things I noticed about the new release: * The GNU FTP Automake directory [2] holds a .sig.sig file: automake-1.10.1.tar.bz2.sig.sig . Is this by intention? * Automake 1.10.1 did not add a .tar.lzma release to itself. I think that would be an important part for promotion LZMA and should be fixed. Other than that great work, thanks to everybody who made it happen! Sebastian [1] http://finance.yahoo.com/currency/convert?amt=11+&from=EUR&to=USD&submit=Convert [2] http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/automake/
