I'm on debian unstable, so there is a wrapper - but I bypassed it with the same results. Two things combined got it going for me: 1) ./bootstrap 2) doing an in-source-tree configure. I'm not sure which one fixed it. Rob -- GPG key available at: <http://www.robertcollins.net/keys.txt>.
