Actually, I'm surprised to hear about 2.49.
I think you can safely limit yourself to 2.13, 2.50, and newer versions.
actually 2.50 and 2.51 are flawed enough that I couldn't recommend them.
2.52 is ok (although incompatible in several unnecessary details from
2.13).
