Autoupdating Flex

Can anyone try using autoupdate from autoconf 2.52g with Flex just to make 
sure it works correctly in a Unix environment?

Flex is available from:-

ftp://ftp.mirror.ac.uk/sites/ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/non-gnu/flex/flex-2.5.4a.tar.gz


I'd like to ensure that the problem I'm having with it is down to me using 
OS/2 rather than anything else.
