I'll let you > know if I learn more. Yes, "test -e" does not work with Solaris 8 /bin/sh. This is a bug, as it conflicts with the Solaris 8 documentation. However, autoconf doesn't use "test -e", as far as I know. "test -r" does work, as far as I can tell.
