Yep, in fact what was not at that time is the ability to use another
FD than AC_FD_MSG. It's the evaluation of the macro that computes the
FD that fails.
In fact, 2.13 is using the literal `2' at this place, and a very
similar failure would have shown up had djm used AC_FD_MSG.
