I'm happy you liked the patch.
Now I'd like to have an opinion on the F77_NAME_MANGLING solution
I submitted, mainly in order to decide whether I should keep that
one or the old one in my private copies.
Would you like me to submit it in patch format?
As I said before, I don't consider that stuff very important,
it just solves a minor logical quirk that probably didn't pose
any practical problem, and gets rid of some non-"ac" shell variables.
