I'd find it *immensely* helpful if configure also looked for a config.site
(or an equivalent file of different name) in the current directory. This
would especially be helpful to developers and semi-developers who
frequently update via CVS and re-configure all the time. I know there's
this config.status --recheck stuff but that's pretty complex to set up and
also requires that you never make distclean.

Making this happen in acgeneral.m4/AC_SITE_LOAD is quite trivial but what
would *really* be nice is if this file was already loaded much earlier so
you use it to set the prefix as well. Perhaps call it config.local or some
such.
