I haven't used autoconf too much, and in looking over the documentation I
wasn't able to figure out the "sanctioned" method for providing
compile-time constant configuration information to configure. For example,
suppose I have a program for which I want the person compiling the thing to
be able to specify a port number, or a maximum number of processes to be
run, or whatever. The autoconf docs say that --enable-x is _supposed_ to
be used to compile in a feature or not, whereas --with-x is _supposed_ to
be used to build the program with support for an external program. Neither
description really lends itself to "--enable-maxprocs=20" or
"--with-maxprocs=20".
Any suggestions, or am I picking excessively at nits?
