I have the same problem from time-to-time.

Is there any chance you could put this patch on a web or ftp server
somewhere and let us know where it is? I'd certainly find this patch
useful.

Incidentally, I'm not sure if you're aware, but config.guess and autoconf
are actually maintained separately (I discovered this only recently). I'm
guessing that you already know this, but I thought I'd better mention it
in the hope that you'd contacted the wrong people :)
