Check if you have APIC enabled. Look also into /proc/interrupts and check
if you don't have any interrupts expensive drivers (ex: IDE driver without DMA
enabled,realtek network adapter ...). The best solution is to have SMP enabled
machine with decicated processor to handle only interrupts from E1 card.
