Hello, Trevor! Have you tried to cleanup (backup it before any operations) all spamdb, white, black and other lists, and restart ASSP, and force to rebuild spamdb? Strange errors may occur if any list contain some damages in their structure. I use RC 0.4.05 for a couple days and didn't notice any fails or error stops. Now I download RC 0.4.08 and start it in productive mail server for a night testing. I doesn't use ClamAV.
Try to enable General Debug (if your server power enough to log a VERY LOT of text data). I'll hope, it can help with troubleshooting.
