The original Wylbur was linemode, but several vendors added full screen support for 3270. I don't know whether NIH did.

When I first used XEDIT it wrapped lines, depending on the bounds setting. I believe ISPF never (even to this day) got the wrap ability. The developers simply waited for larger terminals. But still, LRECL allows lines longer than any terminal. -- gil
