I will try to be very honest in my views. As been one of the biggest fans of
ARR since years I m extremly disappointed with the song. Its not bad but its
not even close to the capability of ARR n his name in the music world, he
should, he could, he would have done much much better than this.
The things went wrong in cwg song according to me r,
1. When some media guy asked him "is it like waka waka ?" ARR responded to that
"we tried to go beyond than waka waka" or some thing like that he replied. With
this reply of ARR people started to expect the song better than chaiyyan
chiyaan or maa tujhe salaam, he shouldn't have said that but insted he should
have said "no its not like waka waka its different from that". He also said
that i m working on it since 6 months. When he can deliver the whole sound
track like slumdog millionaire within 21 days its but natural that people will
expect him to give 100 times better a single song than the songs of sdm.
2. I loved waka waka song. Waka waka's tune was simple but melodious. Song was
catchy, peppy, groovy easy to sing, easy to tap one's feet on it, superb video
n shakira's charm.
3. ARR's music n compositions r difficult to understand for many people, it
takes time to grow, though many people cant understand his music even afer 100
times listen.
4. ARR's movies n private albums not ment for whole india but for arr's fans n
those people who can understand music very wel. Cwg song is for whole india n
every1 wants to be it like their taste. We (arr fans) care a damn when others
dont like his music for movies or private album's, but this time the case is
different because he was suppose to give a song which can easily sung by every
indian n loved by every1 (he tried to do so) but he couldn't reach his goal.
5. This kind of phase which arr is going through is not first time it has
happened before also when people tried to demoralise him n tried very hard to
lower his popularity, but by the grace of Almighty he only climed higher n
higher. This phase is worst. But whenever that happened when his work was
critisized at the extreme level he came with a BANG and silented all his
critics. First, at the time of Daud n other movies of his at that time, he came
with Taal etc., second time at the time of Bose-the forgetton hero n movies of
his at that time, he came with RDB. ARR n Sachin Tendulkar r alike, whenever
people say sachin is finish now, he hits a century, whenever people stared
saying arr is gonna be a history now he came with the best music anyone can
give in the world.
This is the same kind of phase from which arr is going through right now, but i
m very much sure that sooner or later he will make every1 silent once again
inshaAllah taala.
