Glad to see this outpouring of enthusiasm. Hopefully, it will sustain. I, among 
others, have tried various forms of this previously that did not culminate in 
anything (beyond my discography, which too hasn't been updated in a year) as 
time turned out to be a major constraint. Some of the modes we have considered 
includes static web lists, wikis and databases. In my opinion, a database at 
the 
backend is probably the best with front end forms for querying. Depending on 
how 
simple or complex it turns out, something like Zoho Creator might work too. 
What's needed is the involvement of people who are well versed with database 
design AND those that can source information. If we can do a good enough job of 
this there is potential to make it official. Next steps perhaps include forming 
a core team, identifying the types of information we want stored, design the 
schema and then create and populate.
