To make matters worse, neither the organisers, nor AR Rahman, who has composed the theme song for the Games, gave out any details, barring a couple of words. “I urge everyone to be patient and wait for at least 10 days,” Rahman said. When members of the media insisted on more details, Rahman remained elusive, and spoke only in broad generalisation. “I’ve been working on the song for the past six months — it’s energetic, and will get everyone hooked. We are still tweaking the lyrics and we want this song to go further than Waka Waka.” Sounds good, Mr Rahman, but anything more concrete? Hardly. “The song is simple but not simplistic. It talks about the spirit of winning and not giving up.
