It was not like 5 years drought for me. I liked all his recent works.... And for me Raavan is one kind of album which I expect him to deliver quite often. I like this side of Rahman's music very much. (The side I am taling about is Guru, Alaipayuthey/Saathiya, Ayutha Ezhuthu/Yuva and now recently Raavan) I don't know why I get obsessed with his music whenever he make films for ManiRatnam. This album is truely a gem and I am not saying this because I am a Rahman fan but in general. AND I CAN CLEARLY SAY THAT THIS ALBUM WILL BE THE STRONGEST CONTENDER FOR "THE BEST ALBUM OF THE YEAR".
