Thats true, but i feel that the life of the song in the movie fades away when there is no lip sync. This happened at a few places in RDB and Delhi-6 (This is my personal opinion).
So I would say that it always depends on the director to take a call on that. Nowadays, even hollywood is inspired by the songs in Indian films and its beautiful dance sequences. Lip snyc may not necessarily be a factor which could take indian cinema to the next level or something. A classic example would be - Lagaan. :-) But Farzad, i do understand what you are feeling about the case with Mannippaaya. Its high time that Indian cinema avoids lip syncs. At least for ARR songs. Rakeysh Omprakash Movies doesn't have lip sync songs.
