Thats true, but i feel that the life of the song in the movie fades away when there is no lip sync. This happened at a few places in RDB and Delhi-6 (This is my personal opinion).
So I would say that it always depends on the director to take a call on that. Nowadays, even hollywood is inspired by the songs in Indian films and its beautiful dance sequences. Lip snyc may not necessarily be a factor which could take indian cinema to the next level or something. A classic example would be - Lagaan. :-) But Farzad, i do understand what you are feeling about the case with Mannippaaya. It happens when we like a song so much before the release, and end up watching it where you'd feel that the actor doesn't suit the playback singer's voice or vice versa. :-)) Regards, RAJEEV ________________________________ From: Farzad Khaleel <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Fri, February 26, 2010 3:48:44 PM Subject: [arr] Lip Sync for the songs in VTV Couldn't bear hearing Simbu singing the Mannipaya Rahman part with the lip sync to the song. It could have been better if there is no lip sync. and the part the song was used was not appropriate. Aaromale came in a good time and was far better without lip sync. Its high time that Indian cinema avoids lip syncs. At least for ARR songs. Rakeysh Omprakash Movies doesn't have lip sync songs. And we could enjoy the songs of ARR far far better than any other songs on screen. Just a thought.... -- Farzad Khaleel www.rahmaniac. com
