Rahman nominated for CNN-IBN Indian of the Year Award A R Rahman is nominated for the CNN-IBN Indian of the Year – Entertainment award. The singer-musician has been nominated for winning the Oscar and proving that he is one of India's biggest influences on world music.
There is a rain of felicitations on the Academy Award winner, as Rahman has also been nominated for the Grammy Awards for his soundtracks from the Oscar winning film Slumdog Millionaire. Rahman has been chosen as the nominee by IBN18’s editorial team, which went through a stringent ratifying process and finally short listed six entertainers who have left an indelible mark with the depth of their vision, their innovative thinking and dedication to provide quality entertainment to the viewers. Rahman has been previously awarded with the NDTV Indian of the Year 2007 at a glittering ceremony in New Delhi, presided by Manmohan Singh, the Prime Minister of India.
