Hi!

Firstly, i dont think that there is a direct lift there. Probably the raaga is
the same. "Ae Ajnabi" is composed in "Gambheera Naata" and i am not completely
sure if the cited song too is the same raaga.need to play it and see.

Coming to his comments that our yesteryear composers too would have achieved
equal fame, if their work was popularized and also perceived in right
perspective... it is natural for him to feel so, because he is a classical
musician, a veteran and a legend. And having seen it all and done it all in his
generation, naturally he will feel so.

Why him, tomorrrow, when we all grow old, we will will definitely look up to
ARR's work in same way... looking at composers who will emerge out by then. Not
that those new composers will be equally good or bad... but those set of new
composers might click more with the audience  of that time, while we all, in
this group, might still prefer a Zubeidaa or a Dil Se.

Classical musicians know the length and breadth of music (even ARR will agree
to this). and some tinge of criticism will always be there. Why, even I would
prefer a 'Jiya Jale' or a 'Piya Ho' over SDM Soundtrack. Ofcourse, i am happy
that ARR is getting recognition, but then i wish he gets it for morre
classical, serious works. I personally do not like this 'Western' label
attached to his music. Agreed, that it is fusion, and i like the fusion too,
but over long-term, i definitely prrefer Classical, be it Indian or Western
Classical.

And i am sure, even ARR's preference is the same.

Friends, try to understand the state of mind of a classical musician, and take
comments in stride, even if we cannot agree with him. Because they are purists
and highly knowledgeble. Some misgivings will be there, but we cant expect
everryone to be totally perfect. So, chill.

Kamal Aakarsh Vishnubhotla.

After my initial burst of anger, which I expressed here, I'm calm now
and these kinds of comments, like I said earlier, are not surprising.
When you reach the number one spot, you will be targeted. Expect
more comments like these.
