i dont think so, the TV channel cleverly showed only the part they wanted to show. I think Sonu and Alka are only commenting on the issue that there is no room for ghazals in today's music. I think this was the question they were asked not whether ARR can compose ghazals or not. And Sonu's response is actually to this question i.e., he is agreeing that today's music is more than what Bollywood movies offer. he is NOT agreeing on that ARR cannot compose ghazals.
