In the latest issue of Kumuda, there's a small tidbit about ARR. Here's the translation: World Famous painter MF Hussain presented an autographed printed copy of his painting to AR Rahman, as the salary for composing the music for his film Meenaxi. Though the print is worth much less than the remuneration which ARR takes for a film, ARR accepted it without any issues, due to the respect he has on MF Hussain.
