We all hope Rahman's music captures as many people's hearts as
possible. We Rahman fans have been loving this sountrack for the most
part, but what about those outside of the big fan circle, those who
don't listen to Rahman much or in some cases, don't care much for his
music (poor souls)?

This soundtrack is very tight to the movie script. If the movie is
liked, the music will reach the masses. If not, it will reach only
some. Is this another soundtrack where the commercial success of the
music is very much dependent on the success of the movie?

In my opinion, those with good music taste and genuine music lovers
should appreciate this soundtrack even if they are not Rahman fans per
se. But, then again, how do you define a Rahman fan? I don't think
it's black or white, but on a continuum. I think those with good
music taste or classy taste already like Rahman's music because
Rahman's music is classy and in good taste! Rahman is liked to
varying degrees. In this group, we like him intensely. So, is it
really the case for each Rahman album, not just this one, that those
who like him more intensely in general will like this soundtrack more?
