When i first heard the music i hated the album. I was struck by the average/bad lyrics and the gimmicks such as animal noises in mastam mastam and jarring alaaps in dil ka rishta.
However on the second (and third, fourth...) listening the inherent soul of the music began to assert itself. The melody, the orchestration, the complex musical arrangements have caused such an impression that i went to bed haunted by Tu Muskura and started my day listening to Mastam, Mastam during my drive to work. Hats off to Rahman saab for some fresh and original compositions! I agree with a lot of folk on this forums. Yuvvraaj it not in the league of Swades, Bombay, Dil Se, Water. But I would rate it on par with Taal and better than recent albums like Guru and Rang De Basanti.
