This news has been around since a long time... Its chances are that it can be a dub.. Because, India's COSTLIEST FILM-MAKER, Shankar wont allow any other director to remake his film(His first film Gentleman 1993 was an exception). Secondly, although BOYS was a musical blockbuster, it was one of his SMALLER films, with only around a budget of 22 Crores... In the South, the movie did averagely in Tamil Nadu...But was a MEGA-HIT in KERALA and ANDHRA PRADESH...
A dub is probable.... A remake is in NO-WAY gonna happen....SHANKAR is BUSY with the 150 Crore ENDHIRAN with RAJNIKANTH and AISHWARYA RAI BACHCHAN in the lead...
