As an immigrant child growing up in Canada, Karen David was bullied and made to feel awkward because she was so different from "the norm" in school. Now her complex heritage is a remarkable asset she uses in her music, as well as in film and TV work.
"As a child who just wanted to fit in and be Canadian," she tells Sun Media, "I ran away from my roots. I think, when you grow older, you begin to embrace all that and celebrate your quirks." The 26-year-old David is an emerging recording artist, in addition to being featured in The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior. She has a new album of her own songs, including several composed with Indian music legend A.R. Rahman, "who has sold more records than Madonna and Britney Spears together." http://winnipegsun.com/Entertainment/OtherEntertainment/2008/08/18/6486266-sun.html -- regards, Vithur ARR -- The Sweet Cube always
