'Jodhaa-Akbar' premieres on television on August 15. Its DVD is also scheduled for release this month. Gowariker points out that the DVD will have scenes with Birbal which were deleted from the version released at the cinema halls. "This should satisfy those who looked for Akbar's famous darbar courtier in the film and didn't find him. I knew he would have to be edited out even while I was shooting," Gowariker admits. Birbal, portrayed by Indrajit Sarkar, could not fit into a film that was very lengthy already. The DVD will include two 15-minute scenes between the characters of Akbar and Birbal.
