Vairamuthu Neram
*Adhisayam song * Isai Puyal A.R. Rahman and Dir Shankar have to be thanked for this moment. We wrote a song titled ' Adisayam" in jeans. We introduced newer strange unique events and places in the song. The adhisayams that we had written there are not the real Adhisayams ( strangeness) . Something happened because of the song, which was the real Different thing to me, the real adhisayam. Whichever Strange places of happenings, which Tamilians would have never seen, those strange places were picturised on this song. This was the thing which gave me happiness and ecstasy. I was very happy and excited to know that my tamil was associated with all the strange places and strange happenings in the world. I would like to convey my gratitude to Shankar and A.R. Rahman, for having reflected my tamil on all the strange places in the world, through that song. *Narumugaye song *– The song became very popular in all Universities, Colleges and temples of Education. I started thinking, why we cant express Science in our songs. Slowly, I started inserting the knowledge that had gained in through my study, experience into my songs. If we go in depth in science, the songs would become like an essay. So, I measured it and wanted it to be said. *Enakee Enakka ( Jeans ) * " Idhayam Thudipadhu Ninraalum, Irandor Nimidam Uyir Irukkum. Anbe Nee enai Neenginal , Maruganam en uyir Taangadhu". These lyrics are scientifically based. The death of the heart is not real death. If the heart stops functioning, there are chances of it being able to be made functional, by applying some sorts of pressure, or arresting it by some means. The real death is the death of the brain. If the Oxygen doesn't go and reach the brain within a certain period of time, the brain is dead. The death of the brain is the whole death. The death of the heart is not complete death. There are chances of the life coming back. That's why, the lyrics go like, even if the heart stops functioning, I would be alive, but, if you leave me, I cant bear it. I know, at which place, they would listen to these lyrics. If I say it in a scientifica discussion, they would not listen to it. If I say these in a stage, they would ask me to concentrate on the poem and the script. When the same is kept at a place, when two lovers speak , It fits well, just similar to how a tablet is inserted within sugar. Love is inserted within some reasoning. We have come to an age, when we have felt that nothing can be done forsaking science and scientific reasoning. Anyway, there is no purpose in songs reflecting the old moods. It's the modern feeling in the songs, which would attract listeners. (Chinna Chinna Mazhaituligal Sethu vaipeno – En Swasa Kaatre ) *Ratchagan – Kanavaa Neee Kaatre Song * Director Pravinkant, Miss World Sushmitha Sen and their lover Nagarjun. The hero and the heroine are waiting for the lift to carry them to the top floor . But there is a power cut, and the lift is not functioning. The hero is in a situation, where he has to go the top floor with his lover. The heroine tells, that its difficult for her to go to the top floor by climbing, and asks if she could be carried all through. He accepts it with happiness. So, she asks if she wasn't heavy enough. Isnt my weight hurting you ?. At this junction, there is a song. I thought of getting Archimedes principle at this juncture. Archimedes principle is that " Bodies lose weight in water". When the lover is carrying his loved through the steps, the man is not able to feel the weight. When I thought over this, I thought if Archimedes principle could be brought forward here, and made it to apply here. In water, objects are not heavy. It loses weight. In the moon, man is not appearing with weight. Like this water, and moon, Is love also a feeling, which makes one lose weight. ??. That is science, and this is a feeling. Science is reasoning, and Love is a feeling. Without reasoning and logic, a feeling cannot achieve success. Without the feeling, the Logic cant achieve fame. It's the work of Art to unite this Logic and the Feeling. *Chandiranai Thotthu Yaar Armstrong * I wante d to try something new. After composing the tune of this song, A.R. Rahman got a little bit upset with me. He wanted the lyrics , where the word Armstrong happens to be changed. I asked him, why it has to be changed. He said, it doesn't suit the music well. He told me, " Chandhiranai Thotthudu Yaar Armstrong aaa ?". The idea is good. The word strong aaa appears to be little strong. This is a melody song. I sang it and showed him. I told him, that it sits well within the tune of the song. But, he was telling that it was disturbing the tune a bit. I told him, " Let the singer come. Without disclosing our difference of opinions, I would read the lyrics to him. Let him sing it. While singing, if this word creates a problem, then we would change it then. Else, if its comfortable, let us retain it". At that moment, Singer Hariharan was flying on his way to Chennai from Mumbai. We were all waiting for his arrival. He entered the place wishing a big Hi to everyone present there . with his long pony tail … he asked, what was the song. I read the lyrics, and after he listened to Armstrong aaa , he said, " Armstrong aaa ???. Pudisa irukke ( Oh. It appears new ). Oh its good ( Nalla Irukke )". I told him to sing. Rahman taught him the tune. When he sang the lyrics, the exact word, which was considered to be a hindrance to the tune, was converted into a perfect one for the song by hariharan. He sang it to perfection, and the song attained a new status. Immediately, later, Rahman saw me, and I saw Rahman, and Hariharan without knowing our struggle, seeing the stanza of the song, the song was completed. After the song finished, we told him the entire story, and he laughed. For that song, and especially for safeguarding that word " Armstrong", I am very thankful to Singer Hariharan. -- regards, Vithur ARR -- The Sweet Cube always
